A Transport Victoria approved School Student ID is accepted as a student’s entitlement to buy student passes and concession fares. If your school uses the ID cards we provide for student transport, they are only valid for use if your school has had your ID card approved by Transport Victoria to ensure they meet their fraud-prevention requirements.

Your Transport Victoria logo license expires every two years. Please ensure it is updated before we print your ID Cards for the following year.
PTV Becomes Transport Victoria
Early in 2026, the Department of Transport and Planning began advising schools that Public Transport Victoria would be transitioning to Transport Victoria, and requested that schools use the Transport Victoria logo on all new Student ID Cards.
During the transition period, Student ID Cards that have either the PTV logo or the Transport Victoria logo will both be accepted as correct concession identification. Schools will receive notification from Transport Victoria when their current agreement to use the PTV logo is due to expire, prompting them to switch to the Transport Victoria logo instead.
