During the account check process, your account manager will ask you to confirm the printed name format your school has chosen for all staff and student names.
Here at SchoolPix, providing a positive outcome for the school communities we work with is our top priority. In our experience, the best way to ensure all parents, students, and school staff are happy is for the school to approve and supply lists of names in a single pre-chosen format.
- Having clear guidelines helps us to respect every student and staff member by reflecting their preferred or legal name as requested.
- Providing consistency across formatting eliminates confusion and results in accurate representations when matching students’ names and images.
Should our school provide legal or preferred names in staff and class lists?
SchoolPix only prints names exactly as supplied by the school in the original data provided.
Accepted formats must be previously approved and supplied by the school in only one of the following formats:
- Legal Name
- Legal Name (Preferred Name)
- Preferred Name
Whichever format is approved by the school must then remain consistent across the entire school. Different naming formats cannot be used for different students.
Can teachers or students request name changes on photo day?
SchoolPix will only print names in the format approved and supplied by the school in their original data.
- Name changes written on Shoot Sheets, Class Checklists, or other photography paperwork will not be actioned.
- Verbal requests made on photo day will also not be actioned.
- Any requested changes to a student’s first or last name must be formally submitted by the school to their account manager.
We understand that photo day is often the time when students or staff notice mispellings and other mistakes that might have gone unnoticed when the school originally supplied data on their behalf.
Wherever possible, we will do everything we can to assist with these corrections. However, our photographers cannot make any major changes (such as changing from a legal to a preferred name, or vice versa) on photo day.
Class Checklists are only used for:
- Minor spelling corrections
- Adding new students or teachers
- Moving students between classes
What is the difference between manual data collection and the Wonde system?
Whether your school is integrated with Wonde or you have opted for manual data collection, you will still need to choose a name format.
Once the school’s choice has been confirmed during the account check process, the SchoolPix team will ensure the chosen format is followed.
